The abducted Principal of Community High School, Esiele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mrs. Rachael Folawe Alamu, has appeared in a viral video from captivity, dismissing reports that her abductors are demanding a N1 billion ransom, weapons, or the imposition of Sharia law in Nigeria.

In the video, which surfaced on Monday, Mrs. Alamu said she decided to speak out after learning of what she described as false reports about the kidnappers’ demands, 24 days after her abduction.

According to her, she and other captives were shown media reports claiming that the abductors had demanded a huge ransom and the introduction of Sharia law in the country. She, however, insisted that such claims were untrue.

Mrs. Alamu stated that the kidnappers had not requested any ransom payment or made any religious demands. She said the only condition communicated by the abductors was the release of certain individuals currently in custody.

The principal appealed to Nigerians and relevant authorities not to politicise the incident, urging them to focus on efforts to secure the safe release of all victims.

She also called on members of the public to help circulate her message, maintaining that no demands had been made beyond the release of the individuals mentioned by the abductors.
