The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has sparked reactions after sharing his views on the financial advice often given by social media finance commentator GehGeh during a church service.

Speaking to his congregation, Suleman said he is usually cautious of people who constantly speak negatively about women before turning his attention to GehGeh’s financial teachings.

The cleric said he enjoys watching GehGeh’s videos and acknowledged that the finance expert offers useful advice. However, he argued that the guidance is more applicable to people who are still struggling financially.

“That guy gives good advice for poor people,” Suleman said.

He explained that financial decisions and perspectives change as people’s financial status improves, noting that those who have attained significant wealth approach money differently from those trying to build financial stability.

According to him, advice such as refusing to give someone transport fare may be practical for people managing limited resources, but it does not apply to those who have attained greater financial success.

“There’s a level you get to; somebody might be telling you if somebody asks for transport, don’t give transport fare. No, you don’t give transport, you buy cars,” he said.

Suleman added that financially established individuals are often focused on larger responsibilities rather than day-to-day expenses, while GehGeh’s teachings are more relevant to people seeking to build a balanced financial life.

“If you’re coming up, you want to have a balanced life, those are the kind of things. If you’re already standing and God has blessed you, you can’t reason the same way because you’re no longer thinking of transport fare; you’re thinking of cars,” he added.
