The UN Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly and Conference Management, Movses Abelian, noted that the revised list “reflects changes in the level of representation (upgrades and downgrades) and reflects exchanges among Member States.”
The theme for the 80th General Assembly session is: “Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights.”
The UNGA 80 session formally opened on Tuesday, September 9, with the swearing-in of the new President of the General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock of Germany, who called for global unity in tackling crises such as war, poverty, and climate change.
