The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Mahamat Saleh Annadif, Chad’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chadians Abroad and International Cooperation, as the Republic of Chad celebrates its Independence Anniversary.

Ambassador Tuggar hailed Chad’s resilience, unity, and patriotic leadership, noting that the nation’s journey of sovereignty and progress continues to inspire. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s pride in the enduring bilateral relations between the two countries—rooted in shared history, cultural ties, and mutual cooperation—which remain a cornerstone of friendship and solidarity across the Lake Chad Basin, West Africa, and the African continent.

Nigeria pledged to deepen collaboration with Chad in areas including trade, security, education, and regional integration, within the frameworks of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union (AU). Ambassador Tuggar commended Chad’s steadfast role in promoting peace and stability in the region, especially through the Multinational Joint Task Force, and expressed optimism about the continued growth of their partnership for the prosperity of both nations.
