The Super Falcons have commenced preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with nine players arriving at the team’s training camp in Casablanca, Morocco.
The team’s Media Officer, Mary Akinsola, confirmed on Monday that the early arrivals include captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and veteran forward Asisat Oshoala.
The other players already in camp are Glory Ogbonna, Christy Ucheibe, Fatima Oloko, Oluwatosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran and Shukurat Oladipo.
Akinsola said more players and members of the technical crew are expected to arrive in the coming days as preparations gather momentum ahead of the tournament.
The 2026 WAFCON will take place in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, with Nigeria targeting a record-extending continental title.
The Super Falcons have been drawn in Group C alongside Egypt, Malawi and Zambia and are expected to begin full-scale training once the entire squad assembles. once the squad is complete.
