The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a public warning about Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed staff member allegedly using the name of the Service to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
In a statement released on Monday, the DSS revealed that although Godwin was previously dismissed, he has continued to impersonate a serving officer, engaging in fraudulent activities and financial extortion under false pretences.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby alerts members of the public about the activities of one Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed staff. He is reportedly engaging in unscrupulous activities, including using the name of the Service to defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” the statement read.
The DSS emphasized that Godwin is not affiliated with the Service and urged citizens to avoid any form of interaction or transaction with him or anyone claiming to represent him.
