In a scintillating display on Tuesday night, Victor Osimhen led the Super Eagles to a resounding 4–0 victory over Benin Republic in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, scoring a hat-trick and asserting Nigeria’s dominance.

From the very first whistle, Osimhen looked lethal. He opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, racing onto a brilliant assist from Samuel Chukwueze to slot home and give Nigeria an early lead.
He doubled the score in the 37th minute, again benefiting from Chukwueze’s creativity, before completing his treble shortly after half-time in the 51st minute, capitalizing on a defensive error to make it 3–0.

The icing on the cake came late when Frank Onyeka, introduced as a substitute, sealed the emphatic win with a fine finish in the 90th minute.

With this victory, Nigeria keeps alive its hopes of reaching the playoff stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
