A political aspirant has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, pledging to prioritise infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
In a declaration addressed to constituents, the aspirant expressed gratitude and described his decision as one rooted in deep reflection and consultations.
“My dear brothers and sisters of Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, I stand before you today with a deep sense of gratitude, humility, and responsibility,” he said. “Gratitude to God Almighty for the gift of life, humility for the opportunity to serve, and responsibility to the great people of Dekina and Bassa who have continued to show resilience, strength, and hope in the face of challenges.”
He officially announced his ambition to represent the constituency at the National Assembly, stating that the move was driven by a desire to improve governance and development outcomes in the area.
“Today, I formally declare my intention to contest for the position of Member, House of Representatives, to represent the good people of Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency,” he declared.
The aspirant said his decision followed wide consultations and was motivated by the need for more effective representation.
“This decision did not come lightly. It was born out of careful reflection, wide consultations, and a sincere desire to contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of our constituency,” he said.
He highlighted persistent challenges facing the constituency, including poor infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, limited educational resources, and unemployment among youths.
“For too long, many of our communities have faced challenges in critical areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities,” he noted. “Our roads need attention, our schools require improvement, our healthcare system must be strengthened.”
Outlining his vision, he promised to focus on responsive representation, empowerment programmes, and improved national advocacy for the constituency.
“My vision is simple and clear: to provide effective and responsive representation, attract meaningful development projects, empower our youths and women, promote unity and ensure that the voices of our people are heard loud and clear at the national level,” he said.
He further pledged accountability and accessibility if elected, stressing that leadership should be rooted in service.
“I pledge to be a representative who is accessible, accountable, and committed to the welfare of the people. Leadership is not about personal gain; it is about service, sacrifice, and impact,” he added.
The aspirant called on constituents to support his ambition, saying collective effort would be key to achieving progress.
“I cannot do this alone. I need your support, your prayers, and your belief in this vision. Together, we can build a constituency we will all be proud of,” he said.
He concluded by urging unity and collective progress across Dekina and Bassa Federal Constituency.
