The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has temporarily suspended access to its recruitment portal, citing ongoing efforts to enhance its performance and handle a high volume of traffic.

In a statement issued, the Board announced that the portal — https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — will remain inaccessible until Monday, July 21, 2025.

The online platform, which opened on July 14, is the central application portal for recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

According to the CDCFIB, the decision to shut down the portal temporarily is to ensure a more robust, secure, and transparent application process.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” the statement read.
The recruitment exercise, initially slated to begin on June 26, was rescheduled to July 14, with applications expected to close on August 4, 2025.

However, the Board did not indicate whether the portal suspension would impact the closing date for applications.

The CDCFIB urged applicants to be patient while the upgrade is completed and assured them of equal opportunity once the portal is reactivated.
