The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has expressed strong support for Guinea’s long-term development blueprint, SIMAMDOU 2040, during the inaugural Planning and International Cooperation Days held in Conakry.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Vice-President of the ECOWAS Commission, Her Excellency Damtien Larbli Tchintchibidja, reaffirmed the regional body’s commitment to strengthening economic and regional integration through visionary development strategies.
The event, organized by Guinea’s Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, convened key policymakers, economists, and international development partners under the theme: “Reinventing Planning and Cooperation for an Emerging, Inclusive and Resilient Guinea.”

The SIMAMDOU 2040 initiative is Guinea’s ambitious national vision aimed at transforming the country into a resilient and inclusive economy over the next 15 years.
The two-day forum concluded on June 26 with a closing dinner and cultural performances, highlighting Guinea’s rich
artistic heritage.
