The Nigerian Airforce says it is poised at ensuring that its personnel remain mentally and physically prepared at all times to defend the country’s territorial integrity.
Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Dari stated this shortly after completing the annual ten kilometers walk/jog exercise for the command and co-located units in Kaduna.
Air Vice Marshal Dari noted that physical fitness remained the cornerstone of troops combat readiness to keep service personnel in top form and to effectively execute assigned missions.
Represented by Air Vice Marshal Nosiru Folaji, the AOC explained that the exercise aligned with the first and second key enablers of the Chief of the Air Staff command philosophy of optimizing force structure and the establishment of enhanced operational effectiveness.
He stressed the need for unity of purpose among personnel to achieve desired objectives.
The AOC commended the personnel for their tireless efforts at ensuring the successful conduct of the outing and encouraged them to sustain the momentum as well as make physical wellness a consistent priority.
The annual ten kilometer walk/jog exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the health, wellness and operational readiness of personnel.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of gift items to winners in various categories of the exercise.
