Paris Saint-Germain’s Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele is poised to make his much-anticipated return from injury ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League fixture against Bayer Leverkusen, a source close to the club confirmed to AFP on Monday.

The 28-year-old forward has been sidelined for six weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty with France in early September. Dembele spent his recovery period at a specialist clinic in Qatar before rejoining training last week.

PSG coach Luis Enrique will welcome the news as a timely boost for a squad grappling with multiple injuries this season. Dembele missed the thrilling 3-3 Ligue 1 draw against Strasbourg on Friday but is now included in the first-team squad for the upcoming match in Germany.

The club shared images on Saturday showing Dembele training normally, signaling his readiness to contribute once again.

In addition to Dembele’s return, PSG also welcomed back forwards Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who featured as a substitute against Strasbourg. However, the team continues to cope without midfielders Fabian Ruiz and Joao Neves. Reports suggest captain Marquinhos may have traveled with the squad to Germany.

Luis Enrique had previously expressed caution regarding the injured players’ comebacks, stating, “I don’t know when the injured players will return,” and emphasizing the importance of avoiding risks with players’ health.
