The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has pledged the Federal Government’s full support towards the hosting of the 2026 World Public Relations Forum, WPRF, set to take place in Abuja, in November next year.
Ambassador Tuggar, represented by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, made this known during the formal unveiling of the WPRF at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
Delivering the goodwill message on behalf of the Minister, Mr. Ebienfa described Nigeria’s selection as host nation for the global event as “a powerful testament to Nigeria’s growing stature on the world stage.”
“It is a recognition of our vibrant democracy, our dynamic economy, and our unyielding commitment to fostering open and constructive dialogue, both within our borders and across the continent,” he said.
The Minister lauded Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, for securing the hosting rights, describing the achievement as “remarkable” and a clear indication of Nigeria’s leadership in strategic communication on the continent.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we extend a warm and enthusiastic hand of fellowship to the global communication community and congratulate NIPR for securing the hosting rights of this proposed gathering of minds,” Ebienfa stated.
He further emphasized that the forum aligned perfectly with Nigeria’s foreign policy agenda, particularly the 4Ds – Demography, Democracy, Development, and Diaspora – which underpin the current administration’s diplomatic engagements.
“The 2026 Forum is expected to serve as a platform to showcase Africa’s narrative, build global partnerships, and highlight Nigeria’s cultural heritage, infrastructure, and reputation for hospitality,“ he added.
He also assured all international delegates and partners of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring smooth logistics, including the facilitation of visa processing through Nigeria’s foreign missions.
“The Ministry will be dedicating the necessary resources and expertise to facilitate the seamless issuance of visas… to deliver a forum that is not only productive but also an unforgettable experience,” he said.
He maintained that the unveiling ceremony marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s preparations for the international event, which is expected to attract participants from over 80 countries.
The World Public Relations Forum, which brings together public relations and communication professionals from across the globe, will be hosted by the NIPR in collaboration with international stakeholders.
