S. authorities have launched a manhunt for a 45-year-old Nigerian national, Emuobosan Emanuella Hall, who failed to report to prison to begin serving an eight-year sentence for her involvement in a romance fraud scheme.

According to prosecutors, Hall, a permanent resident of Atlanta, was sentenced in January 2026 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, as well as money laundering.

She had been ordered to surrender to authorities by March 25, 2026, but failed to do so. Her last known location was at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where her electronic monitoring device reportedly stopped transmitting.

Although Hall claimed she was traveling to Minnesota to report to prison, records indicate she never boarded the flight, leading investigators to believe she may have fled.

Authorities allege that Hall worked with a co-conspirator to defraud victims by posing as wealthy individuals, such as military officers and entrepreneurs on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
