Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of 12 Kaduna citizens who were ambushed while traveling through Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State en route to a wedding in Quan Pan LGA. Eleven other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries in the attack.

In a statement released on Saturday, Governor Sani described the killings as “acts of savagery” and issued a firm call for justice. “The criminals must be fished out and dealt with accordingly,” he said, urging security agencies to act swiftly and decisively to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The victims, reportedly ambushed in the volatile Mangun District, were innocent travelers attending a family celebration. Governor Sani stressed that such violence is unacceptable, stating, “There is no justification for anybody to attack any citizen of Nigeria in any part of the country. This madness must stop. Enough is enough.”

He also called on Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, to take full control of the security situation in the state and ensure effective coordination of response efforts. “He must direct the operations of the security agencies until the murderers are brought to justice,” Sani emphasized.

Governor Sani reaffirmed his commitment to peacebuilding in Kaduna State, highlighting the progress made through the “Kaduna Peace Model” as an example of how political will and commitment can transform volatile regions into havens of peace.

“The situation in Plateau State is not beyond redemption. The bloodshed must stop. We must collectively work toward ending these senseless killings,” he said.

He also assured the victims’ families of the Kaduna State Government’s full support, including access to medical care for the injured. “We shall do all in our power to lessen their pains,” he said, expressing condolences and prayers for the departed.
