David Oyedepo, founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has shared testimonies recounting past kidnapping incidents involving members of his ministry.
Speaking during a church service, Oyedepo narrated an occasion when a pastor was abducted. He said he instructed that his phone number be given to the kidnappers and issued a stern warning that the victim must be released within 24 hours.
According to him, the situation reportedly changed shortly after the message was delivered, leading to the pastor’s release.
He further told congregants that they should not panic in such situations, encouraging them to stand firm in faith. He suggested that members could reach out to him if faced with similar threats, stressing his belief in divine intervention.
In another account, Oyedepo recounted an incident involving a female member of his church who was kidnapped. He said she told her abductors that her release had already been declared and that she would regain freedom by a specific time. According to him, the kidnappers later let her go under unusual circumstances.
The cleric used the testimonies to encourage Christians not to live in fear or feel oppressed, emphasising that believers are spiritually empowered and should remain confident in the face of danger.
