Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been arraigned by the Department of State Services over allegations of unlawfully accessing a telephone conversation involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

El-Rufai, who also served as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, was brought before the Federal High Court in Abuja on an amended five-count charge filed by the DSS.

At the commencement of proceedings, the prosecution told the court that the charges against the former governor had been expanded from three counts to five, signaling a broader legal case against the ex-governor.

Counsel to the prosecution informed the court that the amended charges border on the alleged unlawful access and handling of a telephone conversation involving Ribadu, though details of the additional counts were yet to be fully disclosed in open court.

Proceedings are ongoing, with further details expected as the case unfolds.

More details shortly.
