Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially resumed legislative duties at the National Assembly, following the unsealing of her office on Tuesday, marking the end of a six-month suspension.

The senator, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, arrived at the Senate complex to a warm reception from her supporters. Her office, Suite 2.05 in the Senate wing, was unlocked earlier in the day by the Sergeant-at-Arms, signaling her full reinstatement.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended in March 2025 by the Senate over alleged violations of its Standing Rules. The suspension had sparked mixed reactions from her constituents and civil society groups, many of whom described the move as politically motivated.

While specific details of the infractions were not publicly disclosed, the Senate had maintained that the disciplinary action was necessary to preserve order and uphold legislative protocol.

Speaking briefly to reporters, aides to the senator expressed appreciation for the support she received throughout the suspension period and reaffirmed her commitment to representing the interests of the Kogi Central people.
