Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has revealed that she received what she described as a divine confirmation that her husband was destined to be her life partner from the very first day they met.
Speaking during a recent interview with DANG, Kadiri shared details of her relationship journey, explaining that marriage was never something she actively pursued or fantasised about while growing up.
According to the actress, she never felt pressured by societal expectations to get married and was content focusing on her personal growth and career.
“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to marry. I knew I was a catch and anyone that was going to marry me was going to be lucky,” she said.
Kadiri recounted that she met her husband in a work-related setting when he approached her and struck up a conversation. Although she was initially uninterested, she eventually engaged with him as they discussed business opportunities, importation and Vietnam.
The actress said a defining moment occurred at the end of their first meeting when she believed God revealed that he would become her husband.
“As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me he’s my husband,” she recalled.
Despite the experience, Kadiri disclosed that she blocked him just two days later. However, he remained persistent and later found a way to reconnect with her.
Their relationship progressed rapidly, and just four months after their first meeting, he proposed. Kadiri accepted the proposal and the pair eventually got married.
She also revealed that she was involved in another relationship at the time she first met her future husband before later agreeing to go on a date with him.
Reflecting on her past relationships, the actress said she had rejected three marriage proposals because she believed she deserved a partner who truly matched her worth.
The interview clip has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many users sharing differing opinions on her claim that she received a clear message from God about her future husband from their very first encounter.
