First Lady Supports Midwives With Essential Kits in Northwest

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the distribution of 10,000 professional kits, including scrubs and Crocs, to midwives across Northwest Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

Speaking at the event in Kaduna State, Senator Tinubu emphasized the critical role of midwives and healthcare professionals in reducing maternal and child mortality. She noted that beyond skill and compassion, access to the right tools and infrastructure is essential for effective healthcare service delivery.

Commending the dedication of health workers, the First Lady urged Nigerians to continue supporting and encouraging them. She also praised the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare for its ongoing efforts in improving healthcare services.

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Uba Sani, highlighted the need for continuous training and retraining of health workers to enhance Nigeria’s global standing in the health sector.

In his remarks, the Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, assured that the government is working to bridge healthcare accessibility gaps, particularly for pregnant women.

The professional kits were officially handed over to the wives of governors and RHI state coordinators from the seven states in Northwest Nigeria by the First Lady.
