A 21-year-old man has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command after he was allegedly found in possession of a suspected human body part, firearms and stolen items during a stop-and-search operation.
Police authorities said the suspect was intercepted by operatives while carrying out routine security checks in the state. During a search, officers reportedly recovered a suspected human body part, two pistols and several items believed to have been stolen.
The arrest has sparked concerns over criminal activities involving unlawful possession of human remains and illegal firearms.
According to the police, the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation as investigators work to determine the source of the recovered body part and establish whether it is linked to any criminal network or ritual-related activities.
The police also disclosed that efforts are ongoing to identify the owners of the suspected stolen items and uncover possible accomplices connected to the case.
Authorities assured residents that a thorough investigation would be conducted and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The suspect is expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
