ECOWAS 50th Anniversary Celebrations Continue in Lagos

While in Lagos, President Tinubu, who currently chairs the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), will lead events marking the sub-regional bloc’s 50th anniversary. The ECOWAS Golden Jubilee, first flagged off in Accra in April 2025, will continue with commemorative activities in Lagos.

A highlight of the celebration will be a reenactment of the 1975 ECOWAS founding declaration at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island.
