The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Government and people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam following the devastating impact of Typhoon Kajiki.

In a statement, Nigeria conveyed heartfelt condolences to families who lost loved ones, as well as those whose homes and livelihoods were destroyed by the typhoon, which triggered landslides and widespread flooding in central Vietnam.

Media reports indicate that Typhoon Kajiki claimed at least three lives, injured 13 people, and damaged nearly 7,000 homes. The disaster also caused power outages and flooding across the central and northern regions, including the capital city, Hanoi.

Nigeria commended the swift response of Vietnamese authorities in leading rescue efforts, evacuating residents, and providing immediate relief to victims.

Reaffirming confidence in Vietnam’s resilience, the Nigerian government said it believed the nation would overcome the tragedy and rebuild stronger.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Vietnamese people during this difficult time,” the statement added.
