The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission actively participated in the African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit, which took place in Abuja, Nigeria, from August 25 to 27, 2025.
As part of its engagement, the Commission showcased an exhibition displaying a broad collection of its publications. The materials highlighted ECOWAS’ ongoing initiatives in conflict prevention, the fight against the proliferation of small arms and light weapons, promotion of democracy, as well as its commitments to women, peace, and security across the region.
According to the Commission, these efforts reflect its unwavering dedication to fostering peace, security, and stability in West Africa, while strengthening regional collaboration to address emerging security challenges.
