Regina Daniels says marriage no longer interests her

Nollywood actress has said she is no longer interested in marriage following her separation from her estranged husband.

 

Speaking during a livestream with TikToker at her Children’s Day carnival in , the actress said motherhood remains important to her despite her changed view on relationships.

 

“But for some reason, I’ve checked my mind out of getting married. I’m yet to have a girl. And I must have a girl,” Daniels said.

 

The actress, who has two sons, said she now feels strongly about having a daughter, describing motherhood with a girl child as a different emotional experience.

 

“I feel like motherhood starts better. Like you would understand motherhood when you have a girl child,” she said.

 

Daniels added that raising girls comes with greater emotional responsibility for mothers because daughters often look up to their mothers as role models.

 

“But for your girl child, you have to be that role model for them to emulate,” she said.

 

Reflecting on family relationships, the actress also said women tend to maintain stronger emotional ties to their homes than men.

 

“Men will grow, get married and focus more on building family. But for women she will always remember home,” she added.

 

Daniels married Nwoko, a relationship that drew widespread public attention because of their 40-year age difference. The couple share two children.

 

Their marriage later came under strain after allegations by Nwoko that the actress was battling substance abuse and required rehabilitation.

 

Daniels denied the claims and accused the senator of manipulation, psychological control and abuse.

 

The actress later moved out of the marital home and has since maintained that she is single.
