The member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Bungudu, has disbursed N35.1 million in scholarships to 1,100 students across five tertiary institutions in Zamfara State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by his Chief Spokesperson, Aminu Lawal Bungudu, who noted that the initiative forms part of this year’s ongoing scholarship and study allowance programme, overseen by a designated committee.
Beneficiary institutions include Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara; Zamfara College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Bakura; Zamfara College of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe; Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau; and Zamfara College of Arts and Science (ZACAS), Gusau.
According to the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, Muhammad Lawal Adamu, students of Zamfara State University (ZAMSUT) received N40,000 each, while students from the other institutions were awarded N30,000 each.
The lawmaker stated that the goal of the initiative is to ease the financial burden of education on students and their families, while promoting access to higher education in the state.
