The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared Hon. Joshua Ishaku Musa as its flagbearer for the 2026 Bwari Area Council Chairmanship election, following the conclusion of a tightly contested and eventful primary.
The primary, overseen by top-ranking party officials and led by Dr. Austin Agada, culminated in Hon. Musa receiving his certificate of return at the APC national secretariat in Abuja—solidifying his candidacy ahead of the polls.
Speaking after his confirmation, Musa expressed gratitude to party faithful and residents of Bwari, attributing his victory to their unwavering support and his clear vision for service. He vowed to uphold the people’s trust and deliver on his mandate with excellence and transparency.
However, the road to his emergence was not without controversy. Aluta News earlier reported that fellow aspirant Haruna Audi Shekwolo had challenged the primary results in court, seeking to nullify Musa’s victory. In a surprising reversal, Shekwolo later withdrew the legal petition, and was initially issued a certificate of return. Confusion mounted until the party reaffirmed its decision, ultimately presenting the certificate to Hon. Joshua Musa as the legitimate APC candidate.
With the legal dust settled, Musa now stands as the party’s standard-bearer and has promised a people-centered agenda for Bwari. He emphasized his commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development if elected.
