A woman, identified as Serah Innocent, has allegedly stabbed her husband, Innocent Nwaoji, to death in Umuokereke Ngwa, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The incident reportedly happened last week, less than eight months after the couple held their white wedding.
Local sources said Nwaoji was allegedly stabbed while he was asleep, although the circumstances surrounding the incident and what may have led to the alleged attack remain unclear.
A community member, David Amaraizu, said residents were shocked by the incident.
“We are not aware of any disagreement between the couple before the incident,” Mr Amaraizu said.
He added that the woman had been arrested and was in police custody, while the victim’s body had been deposited at a morgue.
The incident has left residents of the community seeking answers as police investigate the circumstances surrounding Nwaoji’s death.
