The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is set to host a landmark Regional Youth Conference from July 1 to 3, 2025, in Saly Portudal, Senegal. Themed “Engaging ECOWAS for a New Vision of Youth,” the conference forms a central part of the organisation’s ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations.

The high-level event will bring together youth leaders, advocacy groups, policymakers, and development experts from across West Africa to deliberate on pressing issues impacting young people in the region. Key topics on the agenda include youth employment, entrepreneurship, education reform, and vocational training opportunities.

According to the organisers, the conference aims to deepen dialogue and partnership between ECOWAS leadership and the region’s youth, placing young people at the heart of policy formulation and regional transformation efforts. Participants will work collaboratively to align perspectives and propose actionable strategies for the socio-economic and political advancement of West African youth.
