The marathon, themed “Nigeria Our Strength,” began at 12:45 PM on Sunday, September 28, and concluded around 2:45 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, exceeding the current GWR title of 55 hours, 24 seconds and even surpassing Victor’s own target of 72 hours, 30 seconds.

A Record-Breaking Feat of Endurance and Storytelling

To accomplish this extraordinary feat, Victor gave up sleep, comfort, and rest for over three days, showcasing resilience and determination that has drawn praise from across Nigeria’s media and public sectors.

His first guest was Comrade Sharon Emephia, Assistant Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council. He wrapped up the record-setting event with Etim Ekpo Enyogu, marking the end of what is now being hailed as a monumental moment in Nigerian journalism.

“This is not just about breaking a record, it’s about being an ambassador for press freedom,” said Comrade Grace Ike, NUJ FCT Chairman. “Victor’s perseverance symbolizes the grit, courage, and potential that young journalists in Nigeria embody.”

129 Guests Across Diverse Sectors

Victor’s interviews featured a wide range of prominent guests including:

  • Princess Edna Azurra, National President, National Council for Women Societies (NCWS)
  • Three former NAWOJ Presidents: Chief Moji Makanjuola (MFR), Rtn Evelyn Onyilo, and Chief Ladi Bala
  • Nneoma R. Okorocha, former First Lady of Imo State
  • Comrade Grace Ike, NUJ FCT Chairperson

Among them were representatives from Nollywood, health advocacy groups, security experts, and tech entrepreneurs, offering a tapestry of conversations reflecting the diversity and richness of Nigerian society.

“Each conversation added a unique layer to the story Victor is telling: that journalism remains a tool for dialogue, enlightenment, and impact,” said one observer.

A Moment for Nigerian Youth and Media

Victor’s Guinness World Record attempt has not only highlighted the power of journalism but also shone a light on the potential of Nigerian youth in shaping narratives and driving conversations.

“Victor is showing us what it means to stay committed to the craft of journalism — asking questions, engaging minds, and documenting history without giving up,” said a fellow NUJ member.

Awaiting Guinness World Record Confirmation

The record attempt is now under official review by Guinness World Records, and while the final confirmation is pending, the feat has already sparked national pride and celebration.

“When eventually declared winner, I will dedicate it to every single guest who showed up. They are the true heroes,” Victor said in an emotional closing remark. “And to my crew — you personalized this task and kept the wheels turning. Thank you all.”

From Idea to Impact

Princess Joy Omagha Idam, Team Lead for Media & Planning, noted that the journey began with uncertainty, but ended with a resounding victory.

“Victor endured discomfort and exhaustion, but he stayed the course. This was more than an individual milestone — it became a rallying point for unity, dialogue, and the spirit of Nigeria.”
