The Federal Republic of Nigeria has extended warm felicitations to the Kingdom of Lesotho on the occasion of its Independence Day, reaffirming its commitment to African solidarity, diplomatic cooperation, and mutual development.
In an official statement issued by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Nigeria praised the people of Lesotho for their resilience and national progress, describing the celebration as a milestone of unity, peace, and aspiration.
“Nigeria shares in the joy of this historic occasion, which reflects the resilience, unity, and aspirations of the Basotho people,” said Ambassador Tuggar in his message to His Excellency Lejone Mpotjoane, Lesotho’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Acknowledging Lesotho’s Democratic Gains
Ambassador Tuggar commended Lesotho for the strides it has made since gaining independence, particularly in areas of democratic governance, social development, and cultural preservation. He described these achievements as “a testament to the dedication of its people and leadership.”
