The Anambra State Government has presented 10 brand-new Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to judges as part of efforts to improve their welfare and strengthen the administration of justice in the state.

The vehicles were handed over during a ceremony at the Light House in Awka, where the state government said the initiative reflects Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to providing better working conditions for judicial officers.

Representing the governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Chiamaka Nnake, said the vehicles would enable judges to commute more conveniently and carry out their constitutional duties more effectively.

“The provision of these vehicles reflects the administration’s determination to create a conducive working environment for judicial officers,” Nnake said.

She stressed that adequate logistical support is essential for judges to discharge their responsibilities efficiently and ensure the timely delivery of justice.

Nnake added that the Soludo administration’s Solution Agenda prioritises strengthening all arms of government to improve service delivery across Anambra State.

“The government will continue to support the judiciary in promoting fairness, the rule of law and equitable access to justice across the state,” she said.

According to the state government, the distribution of the SUVs forms part of its broader vision of building a prosperous, secure and liveable smart megacity through sustained investment in infrastructure, human capital development and institutional reforms.

It added that strengthening key institutions, including the judiciary, remains central to the administration’s efforts to deliver good governance and sustainable development in Anambra State.
