A group under the aegis of the National PDP Consensus for the Survival of Democracy in Nigeria has called on security agencies to immediately investigate former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, over comments he allegedly made concerning the abduction of school children in Oyo State.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the Convener of the group, Ochachangolo Armstrong Adah, described Fayose’s remarks on the kidnapping of 42 school children as disturbing and deserving of urgent scrutiny by security agencies.
The group urged the Inspector-General of Police and other relevant authorities to arrest and interrogate the former governor, arguing that his alleged knowledge of sensitive details surrounding the abductions should not be treated as mere speculation.
According to the group, Fayose’s political background and previous public disclosures on national issues make it necessary for security agencies to thoroughly investigate his claims in the interest of national security and public safety.
The organization also expressed concern over reports of additional abductions in parts of Oyo State following the remarks, saying authorities must examine all possible leads to prevent further attacks and protect lives.
While sympathizing with residents of Oyo State, the group commended Governor Seyi Makinde for efforts aimed at securing the release of abducted victims and improving security across the state.
The National PDP Consensus for the Survival of Democracy in Nigeria called for coordinated action by security agencies, insisting that every credible lead relating to kidnapping and insecurity must be investigated without fear or favour.
