The Nigerian Air Force says it has killed several terrorists during coordinated air strikes targeting insurgent hideouts in Adamawa State and Borno State.
The strikes, carried out this month under Operation HADIN KAI, hit Bukar Meram in the Southern Tumbuns and Chikide in the Mandara Mountains, areas believed to be strongholds of armed groups operating in Nigeria’s North East.
According to the air force, the operation followed intelligence reports and surveillance missions which identified logistics hubs, structures and gathering points used by the insurgents.
In a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strikes destroyed terrorist facilities and disrupted planned attacks in the region.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, said the Nigerian Air Force would continue working with other security agencies and allied partners to combat terrorism across the country.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to sustaining coordinated joint operations with sister Services and allied partners to eliminate terrorism and restore peace across the country,” he said, adding that intelligence-driven operations would continue against terrorist hideouts and logistics networks.
