Former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has been formally installed as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The historic coronation took place on Monday at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, where Governor Seyi Makinde presented the staff of office and instrument of authority to the new monarch at exactly 3:08 p.m.

The event was attended by President Bola Tinubu, several serving and former governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and dignitaries from across the country.

Governor Makinde described the installation as a moment of pride for Ibadan and Oyo State, while noting that the ascension of the respected statesman to the throne marked “a new chapter of unity, peace, and progress” for the ancient city.

The Olubadan stool, known for its unique and orderly succession system, is regarded as one of the most respected traditional institutions in Nigeria.
