Veteran Nollywood actress Uche Jombo has dismissed claims that she is making a comeback to the movie industry, insisting that she never left the scene.
The actress said that while she may not have been constantly visible on screen, she remained actively involved in filmmaking through production, talent development and industry-building initiatives.
Speaking on her contributions to the sector, Jombo noted that she spent years producing films, mentoring emerging actors and filmmakers, and establishing sustainable structures through her production outfit, Uche Jombo Studios.
According to her, her work behind the scenes has been focused on strengthening the foundation of Nollywood and creating opportunities for the next generation of creatives.

She called for fair royalty systems, stronger intellectual property protection and reforms that would ensure industry pioneers are adequately rewarded for their contributions.
Jombo stressed that safeguarding creative works and improving welfare for long-serving actors and filmmakers are essential to the continued growth of Nollywood.
She urged stakeholders, policymakers and industry leaders to implement lasting measures that protect the rights of content creators and preserve the legacy of veterans who laid the groundwork for the industry’s success.
The actress maintained that while Nollywood has recorded significant growth over the years, more must be done to guarantee sustainability and recognition for those who built the industry.
