Businessman Olakunle Churchill has responded to the divorce filing by his estranged partner, Rosy Meurer, questioning the legal basis of her action and insisting that their union was never formalized under the law.

Reacting to reports that Meurer filed for divorce after five years together and two children, Churchill stated that what they had was merely a traditional introduction, not a legally recognized marriage.

According to him, the absence of either a court or church wedding means there is no valid union to dissolve.

The development comes days after reports revealed that Meurer had initiated divorce proceedings following Churchill’s widely publicized reconciliation with his former wife, Tonto Dikeh.

In a statement shared via social media, Churchill maintained that he has not been served any legal documents regarding the alleged divorce proceedings. He added that the case appears to be driven by individuals who may lack proper legal understanding and are misguiding Meurer.

He also dismissed claims that Meurer stood firmly by him during his past disputes with Dikeh, including their public fallout and custody battle over their son. Churchill argued that anyone else could have played that supportive role if Meurer had not been in his life at the time.

Addressing his past with Dikeh, Churchill acknowledged that both parties made mistakes but have since chosen to move forward, emphasizing forgiveness and closure.
