FG gives committee ultimatum on University’s payment system

The Federal Government has given the joint technical committee formed to re-test the viability of ASUU’s University Transparency Accountability Solutions, UTAS, for salary payment 4 weeks to report back. The re-testing of the software was spurred by ASUU’s rejection of the results of a user acceptance test conducted by the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, which determined that UTAS failed the integrity and vulnerability tests. Corps members warned against cultism, drug abuse

The Director General of NYSC, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim has warned Corps Members to avoid cultism, drug abuse and other social vices that can mar their future. He gave the warning in an address to the 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps Members during the Swearing-in ceremony at the NYSC FCT Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja. FG continues negotiation with ASUU

  The federal government has returned to the table to continue negotiations with the Academic Staff Union of Universities. Tuesday’s meeting is the second of its kind since the union started a one-month strike 3 weeks ago. ASUU say they want better working conditions, the revitalisation of public universities, and university autonomy, among other demands.
